Beth Moore Weekend

Well this weekend was the Beth Moore Living Proof Conference at the Tacoma Dome.  I was wanting to go, then I didn't, then I did, then I didn't and then the Lord provided a ticket for me to go and so I went. =o)
I haven't ever read any materials from Beth Moore and I have never been involved with one of her Bible studies so this would have been the first time I have ever seen her or any of her material.
There had been some concerns about her and her material from Jeremy and also from Pastor Kevin so I went in cautious.  Overall the conference was ok.  It was encouraging and Beth is funny and entertaining, but overall, I think a lot of it was biblicaly unsound.  The biggest part that was unsettling to me once I thought more about it was when she was talking about Go.  And go is good as long as it is a God go and not a man go.  Which I totally understand the point that she was trying to make.  But her example was a little weak and misleading when she used Moses and leading the Israelites out of Egypt and when they got to the Red Sea.  The Israelites were complaining and whining to Moses about how he had led them into the wilderness to die and Pharaoh was on their tail.  Moses told them to stand firm.  Then in the next sentence God told them to Go into the parted Red Sea.  Now I am totally paraphrasing here as you can tell.  But the impression that I got from Beth Moore was that she was saying that Moses was wrong for telling them to stand firm.  But he wasn't wrong at all.  The little piece that is missing here is that Moses wasn't going to tell the people to GO until God had done His work of parting the sea.  Anyways, I could ramble on but that is just one little tidbit that was unsettling.  The other fact was that she did have some Rick Warren materials for sale on her book table and some of the worship songs were a little, um...emerging.

Overall, I really enjoyed most of the worship and MOSTLY the fellowship with the ladies.  I had so much fun just getting away for a little while and getting to play. =o)

So without further ado  uh how do you spell that?  Anyways... heres some pics.

Scared you with that one huh?!  I know, I scare myself sometimes!

Oh and after the conference on Saturday we went to JerOmy and Katies for family fellowship.  The fam was really excited to go while we were on our way we showed our enthusiasm.
We love you Ashycraffy's!!  =o)
